and playing DC Universe online with your uncle.

Christmas morning started at 6:58am! Here are a few pictures. We've had a wonderful day. Shaun sang "Oh, Holy Night" at church with four other guys. I wish I had recorded the song, it was beautiful, and my favorite part of the day.

We had a small family birthday party, and Emmie chose to go to Chuck E. Cheeses. Shaun had the day off so we went in the afternoon when no one was there.

Then we went to Emmie's favorite place to eat - Red Robin's.

Then we came home and had a Dora cake and opened presents.

Spring Break

Shaun spent the majority of his Spring Break working outside, getting our garden ready. He made 4 more raised garden beds, rototilled dirt, layed down hay, added our compost, and started planting what was ready to go in.

The kids helped him, and played outside all day long. On Saturday, it was warm enough that they asked to put on swimsuits and turn on the sprinklers.

We also took a trip to the temple. The kids got to bring cameras and take pictures of the temple. It seemed a good way to spend the time while we waited.

President's Day weekend we blessed our baby. Both Shaun and my parents came, a few siblings and cousins. I wish I had taken more pictures of everyone, but I was so busy having fun during the short weekend to document the entire time.

We also celebrated my Mom's birthday this weekend. Krista made a fabulous heart-shaped chocolate cake with real whipped cream, fresh strawberries and a chocolate ganash topping. Mom's present was a fire-glazed popcorn bowl with all of her children and grandchildren's name painted on, with her favorite theater candy, diet coke and kettle corn inside the bowl, and four blu-rays filled with McLean home movies from 1989 to 2003. The present and the party were a huge success!

It's Saturday, Dec. 17th, and Shaun and Weston take a boys trip to Utah to see Tron in 3D at the IMAX. Best theater experience ever where you can order food (fish & chips) while you watch the movie.

Weston stayed home at Grandma's and helped her decorate the Christmas tree.

During the weekend, a massive 3-day snow storm started. The boys decided to cut the trip short and head home on day one of the snow storm (baby due in 2 1/2 weeks). The boys made it home safely late Monday evening. The next morning our Provo family woke up to 3 feet of snow.

The girls had fun in Fort Collins. We bundled up and walked to the movie theater, and Starbucks, and the doughnut store. Emmie had her first Starbuck's hot chocolate, and subsequent second since the first one spilled.

Wednesday was busy. Shaun and I found a babysitter so we could go on a date, since it would be the last time for awhile. We went to Noodles & Co. and watched The Chronicles of Narnia. Later that evening we delivered Christmas cookies to about half of the people on our list (sorry to the other half, but the next part of the story gives good explanation why we didn't finish our deliveries).

We all retired early for the night, except for Shaun who finished putting his Christmas present together - a new computer that he built himself. Around 3am he finished, turned on his new PC, and minutes later heard me calling him from upstairs. I woke up and my water had broke. Shaun got everything ready for us to go to the hospital. Our good friend Kristen came and stayed with the kids.

Labor started out easy, and we enjoyed watching the entire Today Show on the giant flat screen in the birthing room. Shortly after, Harrison Shaun was born. 7 lbs. 11 oz. and very handsome.

Anxious to get home, we were discharged with a healthy baby boy one day later, on Christmas Eve. Best Christmas present ever!

Halloween Festivities

Megaman won best costume in the kids costume parade contest. He is very proud of his first trophy, and we were all happy for Shaun and Weston that he won. Brilliant costume building Shaun!

Trick-or-treating in downtown Fort Collins. It was perfect - not too much candy, during the daylight while I still had energy, and not on a Sunday evening. And the kids loved it, and loved seeing all of the other kids dressed up.

We found their cousin, Teagan, along the way.

Halloween Party at the Cornwalls

We had a lot of fun friends join us for a Halloween costume party - ghosts, ghouls and little goblins. There was a haunted hallway and room, with a stuffed Yeti that had glowing red eyes that passed out candy, with black lights, glow-in-dark spiders, strobe light and all sorts of spookiness. We also had a few kids games, one of which included giving all the kids flashlights and sending them out to the backyard. Fun party with great food and even better friends! I should have let Shaun throw a Halloween bash a long time ago.

Summer is coming to an end now that Shaun is back at school. We're sad because we've had such a fun summer. But we're trying to make the most of the warm weather every weekend. My favorite was hiking Horsetooth, our Fort Collins landmark, and the kids did great.

Grandma and Grandpa Cornwall came from Olympia to visit us for a week. We went to the zoo, Estes Park, and a few nature hikes. Grandpa even taught Weston how to turn invisible. We all had a great time and will miss them very much.

Our cousins from Alaska came to visit - Garry, Jenny, Parker, Olivia and Sophia. We played hard, going to all of the parks that had water features, playing in the backyard, eating Jenny's yummy cinnamon rolls and cheesecake. We hope to see them again soon.

We started out Independence Day weekend with a Bike Parade at the church. There were carnival games, breakfast, and the kids got to decorate their bikes.

Happy Birthday Emmerson Kate! Shaun made her a Willy Wonka chocolate bar cake, combining two of her favorite things - chocolate and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The result was a success.

Shaun had his school Film Festival at the Carmike theater this morning. Weston, Emmie and I made it in time to watch Weston's movie - Peanut Butter Trouble. There were over 150 in attendance. 22 short films by Elem. school kids, a huge success!

The massive Easter egg hunt begins. The kids found all 24 Easter eggs, minus one Jake ate while he was out with the kids. They also loaded up on the plastic eggs the Easter bunny hid and accumulated loads and loads of candy.

Halloween

I loved having Halloween on a Saturday. There are always so many festivities, it was nice to have a few of them finished, and have all day to take our time having fun. We made it to our Ward Halloween party and to the Bloomba party on Saturday morning. Emmie was a ballerina, Weston was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Halloween night. Richard, Jennie and Teagan came over and we went trick-or-treating together. When the kids were finished, we came home and put them to bed and had pumpkin pie, hot chocolate and watched "Wait Until Dark".

Here is Weston telling the home owner that he's allergic to "dog licks". He drew up conversations with everyone, it was really cute/funny.

First Snow

It started snowing this morning, and still hasn't stopped. Shaun had a snow day from school, so playing outside, homemade cookies and a fire were in order.

I threw together some sugar cookie dough so we could frost Halloween cookies when everyone came inside, even though the snow made me want to make our winter-time gingersnap cookies.

If you can see closely, Weston is holding one of his fingers that got a little purple frosting on it. And can you see the look on his face?

It was a great snow day and we're hoping for another one tomorrow.

Weston had a super fun super hero birthday party today. He invited his friends and they all dressed up like super heros. They played games, had a super hero lunch, cake and presents. Weston asked for a MegaMan cake, and Shaun delivered.

Cowgirl, Sunday, and Labor Day

This is our 16 month old getting on her horse like a true cowgirl. Good form Emmie. I would have taken video of her standing on the saddle and jumping, or putting her feet on the handlebars and bouncing, but I'm too scared to not have my arms right there if she falls. This girl has no fear.

This is what happened to Weston when I tried to upload the video to blogger the first time. He's got a nice shiner from taking a header to the coffee table. Poor little guy - he's now got a black eye, a purple finger nail and a missing finger nail, and a tooth sized scar on his forehead. All in the course of a month. Still the handsomest little Weston I've ever seen, with just as much charm.
So pretty.

And finally, this is how Shaun spent a good chunk of Labor Day. Heavy labor with a wood chipper, an overgrown lilac bush and a dying aspen.

Preschool

Weston's first day of Preschool. Can you tell he didn't want to pose? He was very excited, loved the new backpack the preschool gave him, loved the kids, the teacher, everything!

The preschool offers gymnastics class once a week. It's Weston's favorite thing to do all week. I'll take some close-up next time we go early.

When in Fort Collins

We have taken the bikes out a few times in the last two weeks. Trips to Dairy Queen, the park, Weston's preschool, breakfast at IHOP, and trail riding. Weston and Emmie love it.

Do not try this at home. The bathroom was on the other side of the park. Weston reminds me of one of the plush monkeys with the long arms that you can velcro around your neck.

Weston had his first set of swim lessons this summer. He did great and was very brave. He learned how to get his face wet, kick, splash, jump in by himself, and almost back float with help. He can't wait to go back.

We found an ampitheater at our first camp site. Weston became a park ranger for us. Interpretation:

"Welcome to Yellowstone. Tonight, if you see a ... in the middle if you see rabbits behind you, behind you and you and you. If you see a moose, you can watch a moose movie. If you don't, you couldn't watch a movie, then you could go back to the tent (enter Emmie) and can play games when they're here (his cousins Andy and Stuart). If you climb up the trees, you have to climb down when the squirrels are scary." The End.

End of the School Year Festivities

The end of this school year was jam-packed full of activities ... so this post will be a little image-heavy.

Mr. Cornwall and his sixth graders had a field day the day before the last day of school. He invited us to come, and we all had a picnic lunch together. Then Weston got to run around with all the 6th graders, and Emmie got to be loved on by all the 6th grade girls that want to be our babysitter. I got to sit on our picnic blanket and just relax!

Weston graduated from his first year of Joy School.

The kids helped plant our garden, and Emmie likes to push the lawn mower with me (disclaimer: Shaun does most of the mowing, and gets mad at me if I do it before he gets home).

This is our inside project - our kitchen. We finally got countertops before Ian and Kami came (thank goodness), and the kitchen is now workable. We have a few more things to paint, and then final kitchen pictures will be posted.

Alberta Falls

Our trip to Alberta Falls, in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Tanner is visiting us for the week, so we decided to skip church and go on a Sunday drive. Once we got there, it started raining. It was a mile trek to the Falls. Weston was a great hiker on the way up, even stopping and climbing big rocks and making me take his picture. The way back was a different story. We were all a little wet and hungry. We didn't take out the picnic lunches because it started raining hard, so we tried to get back to the car as fast as we could. We still enjoyed every minute of it. The park is so beautiful. We'll be back lots this summer, and we'll bring rain gear next time.

I think I've switched my favorite season from Winter to Spring. We are really enjoying going outside almost every day, unless it's pouring outside. One of Emmie's favorite things to do is swing.

Shaun took us to Picnic Rock on the Poudre River one afternoon. It was beautiful and refreshing and so close ... we'll bring a picnic next time.

The Bairds and Courtney came over to celebrate Emmie and Tanner's birthday. Shaun and Carl decided to take down a very unnecessary wall between our kitchen and dining room. I think they had fun, and I love the new kitchen. I guess the wiring was messed up ... and laughable. Shaun said that our house is "the wonkiest house I've ever seen."

Final kitchen pictures will be displayed once we get new lower cabinets and countertops. Maybe after next tax season?

Krista and I took the kids and went to Grandma and Papa's for Lauren's baptism. Papa took the kids on four-wheel drives. Weston didn't last long, but Morgan and Savannah loved it.

Happy Birthday to Weston. Morgan, Savannah and Aunt Krista were here for his party. Birthdays with 3-year olds are so fun!

Shaun made Weston a sword and a shield. He opened the sword, held it in the air and said "I have the power" (He-Man), then he whacked Morgan in the head. It's now an outside toy.
I made Weston a cape that has Batman on one side and Superman on the other. He's a little superhero ... you should see him run.
When he opened up his Dora and Blue's Clues books from Grandma McLean, he started reading them to Savannah and Morgan.

Weston started Preschool this year. He was really excited to have a Batman backpack, but now he's excited to go and play with friends ... now that he knows what school is all about.
We had a celebration lunch at McD's, complete with Weston's favorite meal - chicken nuggets, french fries, apple juice, and a toy.
Later that night, putting on warm jammies because it's getting so cold here.
Yes, if you look closely that is "Breaking Dawn". I saw my brother Mike joined an Anti-Twilight support group. I still like the books though, even though I don't get a lot of time to read these days.

Week in Provo

The kids and I spent a week in Provo. While we were there, Weston got to hang out with Lauren and Mark. Brian built them a fort downstairs ... what a cool uncle.
At some point Courtney stole my camera and took a bunch of random shots - so I'm posting them in honor of my sweet little sister who might be a klepto.

This summer we took a Saturday and drove up to Estes Park. It's a cute resort town that has a ski resort, a lake, and lots of tourist activities. While we were there, we even saw the hotel from "The Shining" and "Dumb and Dumber".

Emmie's first time swimming. She loved the water, and was really upset when we took her out. On our way to the pool - one of the few good things about living in an apartment. Weston even has a tan. I didn't think the children of Shaun and I would ever be capable of getting tan.

Weston gets to play computer while Shaun edits "Buddy's Revenge". I can't believe how quick he picked up getting around on the PC. He likes pbskids.org and some old nintendo games that Shaun downloaded. He won the first level on Super Mario Bros yesterday and was really proud of himself.

So the boys were still in Alaska, and we decided that we needed to make a cake for Jake (the dog) whose birthday was July 5th.

Independence Day

The boys were in Alaska on a fishing trip, and the girls (and Weston) spent the 4th at Lindsey's house.
Allie was a big help with Emmie.
Krista made a yummy cake that I had to duplicate when I got back home. I might have to make it at least once a month.

Aunt Krista brought fireworks. Weston loved sparklers and cried when the fireworks were all gone ... boys and fire!

Grandma and Emmie ... I wish we lived closer!!! And I wish Old Navy had more 4th of July shirts this year. Grandma found one, but I wasn't as fortunate.

We were on our way to Rick's house to film the movie "Buddy's Revenge", and picked up Tanner, Allie and Morgan on our way ... they do have starring roles in the movie. We will post the movie on Shaun's website when it is finished.

Dad and Weston went on a walk with Grandma, Kelly and Kenzie and fed a horse on the way. The walk was cut short when Weston fell and got scraped up pretty bad. Batman bandaids helped him feel better.
The crowd died down and we were able to relax a bit. Unfortunately I got sick and became miserable towards the end of the trip. I think moving and not enough sleep and so much traveling had its toll. Thank goodness for a good Dad and husband who can take good care of us all.

After Nebraska, we drove to Denver and flew to Seattle to help celebrate Grandpa Don's 80th birthday (Shaun's Grandpa). Here is a pic of Grandpa Don holding Emmie.

After we left Arizona, we drove to Nebraska (with help from Matt) to stay at Krista's for a week before the Cornwall reunion in Washington. We had lots of help with Emmie from her cousins, and Weston had such a fun time playing with everyone.

After Shaun was finished with school, we loaded up our POD and left Arizona. This is a picture of Shaun taking a catnap with Emmie in the garage. It was hard work packing up a house with a two-year old and a newborn, a lot more work than I bargained for. We are sad to leave all of our friends, but excited to be closer to the mountains in Colorado.
Shaun said that packing up a POD is a lot like playing Tetris.

Emmerson's Blessing

We had a lot of family over for Emmie's blessing. Shaun also webcasted the blessing and was able to have all of his brothers, and the Bairds there with us. The webcast was last minute, so next time we do something like this we'll be sure to let all of our family know. It was such a good day - a beautiful blessing and a beautiful Emmerson. Thanks to all who were able to share it with us.

This was all done by Shaun, Jenni is not responsible for any content in this post. Weston is really into Star Wars. Awhile ago I was playing with Weston and told him to say "Force" then I threw my light saber on the floor. If you have seen the office then you might remember the episode when Jim makes Dwight believe that he has telekinetic powers. Well it is much like that...Weston now believes that he truly has force powers. He performs "The Force" move on everyone. During nursery he used his force powers on some of the other children. They just look at him like he is crazy. Here is his latest force usage with my Friend Daryn.

We took some pictures today of Emmerson, trying to find the perfect picture for the baby announcement. Weston decided he wanted to be in some of the pictures. He is really good with Emmie. When she is crying he often offers his blue silky and a binky. Today I caught him just standing over her in her swing just watching. He was really quite and just watched her.

California Adventure

California Adventure was the perfect second day. We mostly went to shows (Playhouse Disney, the Muppet Show, a Bug's Life), and didn't walk around as much. I think we were all a little worn out after a full day at Disneyland.

There were a few rides that Weston barely made it into. I doubt the average 2-year old gets to go on bumper cars (or the Matterhorn). The height requirement for this was 36" and Weston is 37".

Our house was ready for realtors, all of our projects were finished, my work week was done, Shaun was on Spring Break, I had a little bit of cabin fever and wanted to get out before the baby came, and the fact that we have a tendency towards last minute road trips led us to Disneyland for a couple days. We had such a good time. Weston loved it all ... the characters, the rides, the parade.

This is our little painter - very helpful but did not like getting paint on his hands. He's a little OCD about certain textures, or dirt or anything on his hands. Oh, and he only lasted for a couple of minutes.
